Jake is an experienced film and video Director and the Founder of Barrett Film Co, an award-winning production company. He started his career as a Camera Operator, working on documentary based TV series for the likes of C4 and the BBC. After an introduction to the world of advertising, he worked for various production companies, developing a range of commercials and managing shoots for clients across the UK.
The past eight years have seen Jake work freelance, own production companies, working in-agency as Head of Film and directing for award-winning video producers and studios. Through Jake’s experience, he has been fortunate to produce visuals for the likes of TikTok, JCB, Bosch Home & Garden, Open Study College, Coop Pharmacy, Massey Ferguson, Dixons Carphone, Greene King, Worcester Bosch, Electrolux and National Express.
As of 2020, Jake is the Founder of Barrett Film Co, a collective of versatile film and video production experts tasked by agencies, brands and studios to produce stunning, meticulously crafted, emotionally resonant work, that touches hearts and expands minds. From social ads to brand films, product videos, Sky Adsmart commercials, internal comms, training videos, events and national TV commercials.
